Arrival and check out times
We ask our guests to arrive at, or after, 3pm and we have to say goodbye at 10am at the end of your stay. You can book an earliercheck-in or later checkout for a small fee (as long as we can fit you in.
You will find a welcome pack waiting for you in your cottage including some biscuits, water, tea, coffee, milk and sugar. If you want to make sure you have some basics ready for you, we suggest you arrange a supermarket delivery for your arrival. There are local Asda, Morrisons and Waitrose deliveries available.
There are also local shops in Milton under Wychwood and Carterton
We welcome well-behaved small to medium-sized dogs that stay out of the bedrooms.
Kitchen Facilities, Baby Facilities & Disability Access
Our kitchens are great quality and have all the usual modern-day conveniences including oven, hob and microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machine.
Access levels depend on the location so please ask.
Interior & Bathrooms
All bathrooms have showers. We have furnished the properties to be stylish, comfortable and ageless using a mix of antique and modern furniture, arts and crafts pieces and plush fabrics with modern appliances. The bedrooms have good wardrobes with plenty of hanging space.
Extra things to pack for your stay
We suggest you pack walking shoes and wellies (if it has been raining) and bring a raincoat – just in case!
Bikes can sometimes be stored depending on the property. We remind guests that all personal possessions are the owner’s responsibility and these will be left on the premises at your own risk. We will not accept liability.
Wildlife in the Fordwells area
During the spring the gardens are alive with the sound of the birds. Around the area you will see Blackbirds, Thrushes, Robins, three varieties of Tits, Sparrows, Starlings, Collared Doves, Wood Pigeons and House Martins and Swifts. Nesting in the gardens or adjacent fields you may also see: Wrens, Goldcrests, Goldfinches, Greenfinches, Chaffinches, Bullfinches, Nuthatch, Green and Spotted Woodpeckers. In addition, the area is home to deer, foxes, and rabbits. Moles baggers, otters and a range of wildlife you might also be seeing on your travel around the area!
There are many local golf courses, all good and all different.

Fordwells is an excellent starting point for a range of Cotswold walks and cycling routes. We provide information in the cottage for you to browse at your leisure.
